The Central Bank of Iceland, under the name Government Debt Management, administers debt for the Government pursuant to a contractual agreement between the Bank and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, dated 29 January 2019. Each year, the Bank prepares a more detailed report covering the main aspects of Government debt management and borrowing by holders of Government guarantees. GDM’s annual report, which focuses on these topics and describes the management of Government debt in 2025, is published here for the first time.
