Changes in central government debt (billions ISK)

The statistics apply to central government debt - part A1, net of pension liabilities and accounts payable. Debt falls into three categories: nominal, inflation-linked, and foreign-denominated. The Treasury's net debt is lower, as it takes account of on-lending to State entities, as well as local and foreign currency deposits with the Central Bank of Iceland. Balances are shown at nominal value, while inflation-linked debt is shown at nominal value with accrued indexation.
